Three students were Thursday injured following clashes between two rival groups during students' union election in Shri Murli Manohar Town Post Graduate College here, police said.

The two groups indulged in brick-batting and opened fire at each other, leading injuries to three students -- Anand Rai, Vicky Rai and Sandeep Pandey, they said.

The injured students were admitted to a hospital where condition of Anand Rai, who is said to be a ABVP supporter, was stated to be critical, police said.

The matter is being probed, they said.
