Ganta, officials identify areas for collaboration

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has reached an understanding with the Universiti Kebangsaan Malayasia (UKM) or The National University of Malaysia, for collaborative and exchange programmes.

State Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Wednesday met Deputy Vice-Chancellor Imran Ho Abdullah of the Malaysian University and discussed the feasibility of collaboration in the areas of engineering and science and technology.

The Minister met Mr. Abdullah and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Isha bin Yusuf at the National University of Malaysia, adjacent to Malaysia’s administrative city of Putrajaya, and discussed with them the feasibility of student-faculty exchange programmes and collaborative projects in engineering, science and technology, innovation, social sciences and humanities.

Joint committee

Both the sides agreed in principle to constitute a six-member joint committee to pave the way for a memorandum of understanding.

The National University of Malaysia is a public university located in Bangi, Selangor in the south of Kuala Lumpur. There are 17,500 undergraduate students enrolled, and 5,105 postgraduate students of which 1,368 are foreign students from 35 countries.

Vice-Chancellor of Vikram Simhapuri University R. Sudarshan Rao, and Advisor, APSCHE, E. Venkat are among the members of the delegation.
