VADODARA : A 45-year-old tuition class teacher accused of molesting several school girls was arrested by the Panigate police on Wednesday evening.

Police said that the accused Sandeeprao Kaleskar, who has a 14-year-old daughter, has allegedly molested at least seven girls of primary schools who used to take tuitions from him. Police said that Kaleskar taught students of primary schools while his parents-in-law used to teach students above class VIII in the same house. Since they used to teach students in a different room, they never learnt about Kaleskar’s acts.

When the students came to his house for classes, he would take a girl inside a room and molest her. Later, he would even threaten the girls with dire consequences.

However, recently two girls informed their parents about Kaleskar’s advances. When they discussed this with parents girls attending Kaleskar’s tuition classes, it came to light that other girls were also victims of Kaleskar’s sexual assault. Since Kaleskar had threatened them, they never talked to their parents about the ordeal.

Angry parents of the girls, who live in affordable housing scheme homes, went to confront Kaleskar on Wednesday morning. After a ruckus at his house, they went to Panigate police station to lodge a complaint. Cops said that Kaleskar fled to Jambusar fearing arrest.

“When we went to arrest him, he was not there. We learnt through our sources that he may have fled to Jambusar so a team went there and held him,” said inspector of Panigate police station N V Vaghela. He added that they are interrogating Kaleskar to find out if he has molested more girls.
