HC directs shifting of Samayapuram temple elephant to camp

The Madras High Court Bench here Wedneday ordered shifting of the ailing elephant of famous Sri temple at in district to the Mudumalai camp for the jumbos.

The elephant Masini, donated to the temple by then late J Jayalaithaa in 2016, is now undergoing treatment at the and in Orathandu in district.

Justices M M Sundaresh and N Satishkumar gave the direction on a PIL, filed by Clymont, seeking to restrain the temple officials from using the elephant for temple rituals.
