The Rachakonda SHE Teams have arrested 56 eve-teasers, including a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus conductor and a college lecturer, in the past three weeks. Of the accused, 16 are minors.

Police said a 17-year-old student contacted SHE Teams on WhatsApp and said the bus conductor, identified as E.P. Srinivas (53), touched her inappropriately. He was booked under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act.

In another case, a college lecturer, K. Vamsiraja (28), was apprehended for allegedly raping his 22-year-old student. The accused got intimate with the victim and promised to marry her, but later retracted saying his mother didn’t approve of the inter-caste match.

Police have booked a case under IPC. Relevant sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have also been invoked.
