Teacher held for corporal punishment

HYDERABAD: A nine-year-old boy of class three was beaten up allegedly by his teacher at Ibrahimpatnam on Tuesday for not doing his homework. The teacher was arrested.
The boy was identified as M Akhil, student of Angelist High School, and a resident of Ibrahimpatnam.
Akhil’s class teacher, A Shankar, gave a homework on Monday. However, the boy failed to finish it. “He was beaten up with a wooden scale. We will produce Shanker before the court on Wednesday,” said Ibrahimpatnam SI Mohan.
Akhil was initially taken to Ibrahimpatnam Government Hospital, and later shifted to a private hospital. A case has been registered.
