GREATER NOIDA: A journalism student of IIMT College of Polytechnic in Greater Noida was allegedly thrashed by three persons, including a fellow student, outside the premises of the institute on Tuesday evening. A case has been lodged against the trio after the victim filed a complaint.
Faizan Siddiqui, originally from Lucknow, said he was beaten up by Prince Awana, a second-year student of the institute, and two others as he had testified against them before the college administration for thrashing one of his batchmates on October 5. “Prince and his two friends had beaten up a batchmate of mine in front of me. I was later called by a group of professors to identify the main accused. Since then he had kept a grudge against me and on Tuesday, I was attacked by him and two others and also threatened with dire consequences,” Faizan said.
However, the family of the accused has denied the incident, saying that he had not been to college for the past three days.
