Teenagers 'drove head-on into police car and traffic' in Townsville
Three teenagers crashed a stolen car into oncoming traffic, hit a police car head-on and injured an officer during their rampage in north Queensland on Tuesday, police allege.
Officers in Townsville tried to stop an allegedly stolen Mazda 2 about 2pm, deploying tyre stingers that punctured two of the car's tyres.
The car veered onto the wrong side of Bundock Street, police said, before the three occupants abandoned it.
The trio allegedly pulled a woman from another car and drove it into a police car head-on before an officer was able to climb into the car.
Police said the officer suffered a leg injury in the process.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a vehicle, robbery in company, serious assault police, burglary, receiving tainted property and failing to stop.
An 18-year-old man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, serious assault police, receiving tainted property, robbery in company and stealing.

The 17-year-old will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act and the two men were expected to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
