T’gana, Chanda police to share info on liquor smugglers, Naxalites
Mazhar Ali | tnn | Nov 1, 2018, 03:47 ISTChandrapur: Chandrapur police and their counterparts in the bordering districts of Adilabad and Asifabad districts in Telangana have unanimously decided to share information about the movement of liquor smugglers and Naxalites.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting attended by Chandrapur SP Maheswar Reddy, Adilabad SP Vishnu Warrier and Asifabad SP Malla Reddy in the presence of special IG (Nagpur range) K M M Prassanna. Both sides agreed to exchange the informations about the smugglers.
Large scale liquor is smuggled from bordering Telangana into dry Chandrapur due to lack of coordination between police officers of the two sides.
All three districts also decided to exchange their information on movement of Naxalites. “SDPOs of bordering divisions and police officers at border police stations were told to keep in touch with each other the matter,” a police officer present in the meeting said.
Other decision that was taken at the meeting included exchange of information about the interstate criminal gangs, their modus operandi, details of lost people, unidentified deaths, smuggling of narcotics, geographical location, social and political situation, details of border police stations and out-posts, highways, rivers, bridges connecting two districts, railway tracks, transport, etc.
