Board member inspects terminal

CHENNAI: Girish Pillai, Member, Traffic, Railway Board inspected the Tambaram coaching terminal on Monday. He was accompanied by Chennai Divisional Railway Manager Naveen Gulati, principal chief operations manager S Anantharaman, principal chief commercial manager Priamvada Viswanathan and other officials. He has inspected the Tambaram coaching terminal to review phase-II of the Tambaram coaching depot to create additional checking lines (PIT) and stabling lines. He also discussed the remodelling proposal of the Tambaram station yard to augment the capacity to handle additional trains, enhanced passenger amenities and create fluidity of train operations. He also reviewed the progress of third line between Tambaram and Chengalpattu and later inspected the Tambaram-Chennai Beach section in a tower car.
