FALL RIVER -- Will your children be trick or treating in neighborhoods where registered sex offenders are living or working?

Here's a tool you can use to find out.

Based on public information from the state's Sex Offender Registry Board, here is a map of the 158 places where Level 2 and 3 registered sex offenders are either living or working in Fall River. Level 2 and 3 sex offenders "have a moderate or high risk to reoffend," according to the SORB.

Some quick but important notes regarding this data, from the SORB website:

"Sex offender registration information shall not be used to commit a crime against an offender or engage in illegal discrimination or harassment of an offender. ...  Any person who uses sex offender registration information to threaten to commit a crime may be punished by a fine of not more than $100.00 or by imprisonment for not more than six months.

"The individuals who appear on the following profiles have been finally classified as a Level 2 or Level 3 sex offender by the Sex Offender Registry Board. The Board has determined that these individuals have a moderate or high risk to reoffend and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that public safety interest is served by public availability of registration information."
