MOLAKALMURU : Former Tourism minister and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy on Monday said that his life was under threat as the coalition government led by H D Kumaraswamy was neglecting his security. Speaking to The New Indian Express in the backdrop of the by-election to the Ballari parliamentary constituency, Reddy said that he had submitted a letter requesting the government to provide security for him, which was rejected twice by then Siddaramaiah government.

Citing the example of Telangana, Reddy said, “During my visit to a court in Hyderabad, the Telangana government provided Y-category security. Our government is not interested in providing that to me.”

He has again submitted the application to the CM on Monday. “My life is under threat, however, I am working without fear to ensure that the BJP nominee B Shantha wins the by-election,” he added.  Replying to a question on the refusal of Amit Shah accepting him as a BJP member, he said, “Circumstances may have led him to make that statement. I will work as a BJP fan and no one can stop me from serving the party.”
