Bizman turns green crusader, to cover 1,200km on e-cycle in eight days

Amitej Singh (28), an electric cycle shop owner in the city, on Sunday set out on an eight-day solo cycle journey from Surat to New Delhi. He plans to promote e-cycles for daily commuting in cities to save petrol and reduce pollution.
His e-cycle is fitted with a 250 watt electric motor, a battery, a controller, throttle and brakes. Amitej is travelling on his cycle with 26 Amp-hour and 10 Amp-hour batteries and plans to cover 150km per day.
The total distance of around 1,200km will be covered by him on his e-cycle in eight days. The average speed of the e-cycle is around 23km per hour. The running cost of this e-cycle is 6 paise per km. Amitej had recently won Chief Minister Award for developing a hybrid scooter in Gujarat. tnn
