Bishop Connolly junior Jamison DeFaria attained one of his goals for the season with a first place at the Mayflower Athletic Conference boys' cross country championship on Sunday at the Wrentham Development Center (3.1 miles).
Once-beaten in dual meets, DeFaria raced to first place in 18:14. His sternest competition came from sophomore teammate Mateo Humphrey, whose 18:26 was good enough for second place and helped the Cougars to a second place in the team standings.
Senior Noah Benevides (15th place, 20:00), sophomore Samuel DeCosta (22nd, 20:42) and sophomore Deklan Rego (17th, 21:35) completed the Connolly scoring.
In the girls' meet, Connolly junior Lauren Northrup (21:59) took third place.
DeFaria, Humphrey and Northrup earned all-MAC honor.s
South Coast Conference Championships
SBR's Ramos fourth: At the Wrentham Development Center (3.1 miles), Somerset Berkley sophomore Jordan Ramos (20:37) raced to fourth place and teammate Caitlin Lourenco (21:49), a senior, also medaled by taking 11th place.
Somerset Berkley's scoring was completed by Mckenzie Offley (23:01), Allison Vieira (26:43) and Dalia Karim (28:34).
