Indonesian transport officials now say the plane had technical problems on its previous flight on Sunday, including unreliable readings on its air speed.

Ground staff lost contact with the plane after 13 minutes on Monday. It then plunged into the sea and sank.

It is almost certain that there are no survivors, making this Indonesia's second worst air disaster ever.
