The unnamed guest revealed the request in a Facebook post, saying her husband's cousin wanted the payments in addition to a wedding gift.
'She asked for a $25 deposit for the couple's shower, $20 deposit for the bridal shower and a $30 deposit for the actual wedding,' the woman wrote.
'She also asked for monetary donations for their honeymoon and said to dress in country western attire.'
In addition to the string of requests, the post's author, a florist, detailed how she had already made all of wedding's flowers, drive eight hours and book two nights' hotel accommodation in order to attend the event.

'Saying congrats over Facebook is way cheaper,' one user quipped.
'Tacky, if you can't afford a wedding or don't have family who offers to help with costs then don't have an expensive ceremony,' said another.
However, others sympathised with the bride's pricey predicament saying taking a deposit was a way to ensure guests actually showed up.

The general consensus among the women was that the demand was ultimately inappropriate and a three-time deposit was too big an ask for invited guests
'If my money would be returned i would do the deposit there's to many f*** heads that RSVP yes and we spent $50 for their plate of food, even though they never showed,' she explained.

'It's disturbing, and I really hate that people enable them.'
