Tent cities to be developed
TNN | Oct 31, 2018, 04:00 ISTVadodara: The government has planned tent cities on the banks of two lakes near the Statue of Unity. While one tent city will be spread over 50,000 sq m, the other will be developed on 20,000 sq m land. One tent city will 200 tents while the other will have 50 tents. The tent cities will have proper roads, water and power.
According to the district administration, 80 specially trained guides will be available for tourists in the Statue of Unity vicinity. Fifty of them will be dressed in the uniform prepared by National Institute of Fashion Technology. While 46 of them are men, the other 14 are females. The Valley of Flowers near the statue will be one of the major attractions for the visitors. Made on a 17-km-long patch along the Narmada River bank, the valley is home to 100 varieties of colourful flowers. The government plans to expand the valley from the current 250 hectares to 3,000 hectares in the future. The entire valley is covered by drip irrigation system and it is home two lakes.tnn
