It has been days since the ‘A ward’ in South Mumbai has been facing water shortage. The water shortage has not only hit the local residents but also hospitals in that area. One of such hospitals is Gokuldas Tejpal (GT) Hospital, where even surgeries have been postponed due to water shortage.
According to Asian Age, the GT Hospital has been facing acute water shortage for two months and according to the hospital staff, the severity of the water problem has increased since past fortnight. Dr Vikas Miandad, the deputy superintendent of the hospital, told the leading daily, “To tide over the water shortage problem, we have asked the BMC authorities to increase the amount of water supply to the hospital.”
The water shortage has affected the hospital to such extent that now it gets 30-40 percent of water as compared to 100 percent earlier. Due to severe water shortage, the hospital even had to postpone several surgeries. The A-Ward consists of high-profile areas such as Colaba, Fort and Cuffe Parade.
