Porsche 911 Loses It On Wet Road, Ends Up Taking A Bath In A Creek

One of our readers sent over an image of a very sad-looking Porsche 911, whose driver lost control in the rain, possibly due to an unfortunate combination of low grip conditions and summer tires.

While we weren’t presented with a lot of details, we were told that the car is a 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet model and that its driver would rather not have their identity disclosed, which is perfectly understandable.

Usually, when cars leave the roadway and end up places where they shouldn’t, driver error is to blame. So even though the road was wet and therefore slippery, it’s possible that the person behind the wheel did something to offset the 911’s balance. Now, whether it ultimately oversteered, understeered, or just slipped, we have no way of knowing at this time.

As for damage, bringing this German sports car back to life would take a lot of time and money. Aside from the fact that it’s partially submerged, we can also see that the driver side airbag was deployed, the right wing mirror has collapsed and the body panel that aids the soft-top’s release is in a very unnatural position – almost as if the car is in the process of raising/lowering its top.

Another unknown factor is just how much water entered the engine bay and the interior before it was removed. Since the vehicle isn’t completely underwater, it’s possible that major components might still be salvageable, although, we wouldn’t bet on it.
