Excise enforcement team busted two youth, Manikanta alias Mani (24) and Abhilash alias Javed (26), who were found to be in possession of 7.1 kg of dry ganja and one kg cannabis oil.

The Excise team which patrolled Krishna Nagar cross roads in Banjara Hills found the duo and stopped their bike to conduct a search. The officers seized 1.4 kg ganja from them.

On questioning the duo directed the officers to a room located nearby.

On searching the room and a car used by them, the officers found 5.74 kg of dry ganja and one kg cannabis oil.

According to N. Anjireddy, Assistant Excise Superintendent enforcement who supervised the raid, the duo were in the business of peddling banned substances in packets of 25 and 50 grams.

The raids were conducted as per the directions of C. Vivekananda Reddy, DC-Hyderabad.

Ganja candy seized

Ranjendranagar excise officers seized twenty eight packets of chocolates that contained ganja from a pan shop power, Ravindra Behra who lives in Katedan.

Each packet had 40 pieces of candy.

Behra, a native of Odisha, had procured the candy from his contact in Balasore for ₹150 per packet. He had priced the same at ₹320 in Hyderabad.
