Place The Winning Bids And Take Home This Matching LaFerrari & Aperta Duo

In the market for a supercar? You’ll likely have to decide between the coupe or the convertible. But if you have the cash, we say, why not buy both?

That’s the prospect that’ll be presented by Mecum Auctions at its upcoming sale in Kissimmee, Florida, come January, where it will offer a LaFerrari coupe alongside a matching LaFerrari Aperta roadster.

Maranello first presented the hybrid LaFerrari in 2013 as its answer to the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1. It packed a 6.3-liter V12, naturally aspirated but boosted by an electric motor with kinetic energy recovery to deliver a massive 950 horsepower (708 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.

It could reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just 2.4 seconds, top out at 217 mph (349 km/h), and lap the company’s on-site Fiorano test track in 1:19.70 – faster than any road-going Ferrari built before or since.

Unfortunately it only made 500 of them, and they were all snapped up pretty quick. And the subsequent open-air Aperta version was even rarer, with just 210 made. That leaves both as rather hard to come by, so the chance of putting both in your collection is that much rarer a prospect. But that’s just what we have here.

Both are decked out in red – the coupe in special-order Rosso Fuoco and the roadster in Rosso Corsa – with red-trimmed black interiors and red-rimmed black alloys. The coupe has only 418 miles (672 km) on the clock, and the Aperta just 174 miles (280 km). And you can bet they’ll each sell for seven figures. So if you want to take home both, you’d better bring a rather large suitcase full of cash.
