Warriors hold off Nets in 120-114 victory

Stephen Curry created a record on his way to 35 points as the Golden State Warriors held off a late rally to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 120-114 on Sunday.

Curry, with seven 3-pointers in the game, made it seven games in a row at the start of the new season with at least five 3-pointers, breaking George McCloud's record of six games in a row during the 1995-96 season.

Hamilton claims fifth world title

By finishing fourth in the Mexican Grand Prix, won by Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton claimed his fifth drivers’ world championship.

With this, Hamilton joins Argentine great Juan Manuel Fangio with five titles, with only Germany’s seven-time champion Michael Schumacher above them.

Hamilton’s five victories have come in 2008, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
