KV Old Cantt wins youth parliament trophy of central zone

ALLAHABAD: A 54 member team of the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Old Cantt of the city have won the prestigious trophy of the zonal youth parliament, held at Bhopal on October 25-26. Eight students of the team will be given special award by the HRD minister later at Delhi in December.
The coordinator of the team, C M Tripathi, PGT, Hindi of the school informed that the team was the winner at the regional competition held at KN New Cantt of the city in the month of August. "After winning the regional level, we were invited to participate at the national level wherein Five teams of the central zone presented how the parliament functions and the performance of our team was adjudged the best", said Tripathi.
Teams from Five other regions including Lucknow, Raipur, Patna, Bhopal and Varanasi participated at the competition.
"Teams from various KV's of the country are distributed in Five zones and each would hold their competition one by one, starting with the one held for Central zone, at Bhopal", informed principal of the school, Shalini Dikhsit.
Eight students of the team including Aditya Triapthi (prime minister) of class 11th, Shubra Singh (speaker) of class 9th, Kalash Dwivedi (home minister) of class 11th, Ritika Tripathi (HRD minister) and others would be honoured by the HRD minister in the month of December at Delhi.
Tripathi informed that after all the zones concluding competitions at their individual level, the team scoring highest points would be presenting their performance, of running the replica of routine day of parliament, at Mavalankar Hall of Delhi.
"It is not only about winning the honour but such awards and that too at such a high platform gives an additional sense of responsibility and a better understanding of the essence of the largest democracy of the world", said principal of the school, Shalini Dikshit.
