NEW DELHI: Mentha oil futures was trading higher during Monday's session as speculators engaged in building up positions, driven by surging demand in the spot market.

Analysts said raising of positions by speculators amid increased demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.

MCX Mentha Oil was up by 0.53 per cent at 1,789.50 per kg around 12:30 pm.

Bullion counter were trading higher in morning trade on Monday due to some demand for precious metals from jewellers, investors, industries and retailers.

Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty were in positive terrain, led by gains in bank, auto, metal and IT stocks.
