HYDERABAD: Unidentified persons broke into the locked residence of a hotel owner at Jawaharnagar and decamped with huge quantities of gold and cash worth over Rs10 lakh. The owners had saved it to buy a new house. Police said the burglars broke open the latch of the main door and gained entry into the house.
According to police, Kadiyala Srinivas, a resident of Kushi Garden gated community, owns two hotels at Cherlapally.
He along with his wife and other family members manage the hotels. Every day, they leave from home by 9.30am and return by 10pm in the night.
On Sunday when they went inside, they found both almirahs were also broken. Jawaharnagar’s detective inspector, D Narsing Rao, said that the offenders decamped with gold weighing 29.5 tolas and Rs 2.50 lakh cash kept in the almirahs. “It is a gated community but has no guards or CCTV cameras, which made their job easy.” he said.
