Kudla gears for up for spooky and scary Halloween night

MANGALURU: Goblins, ghosts and terrifying monsters will be out in force on Wednesday as Rome of the East-Mangaluru-has geared up for most awaited event of the year—Halloween Night.
Most of the prominent watering holes in the Kudla have geared for special food to cocktails, music to unique costumes. Every year, the not much known Halloween Night is gaining prominence in coastal Karnataka from past few years. It has become talk of the town this time with hosts of events in several restaurants and pubs in city, as well student town-Manipal.

Halloween is celebrated on October 31 every year, where unique parties mostly spooky in nature take centre stage with good food, music and dance.


One such event which is named as ‘Halloween’ is at Onyx air lounge and Kitchen, one of city’s most preferred watering hole. As the theme says there will be deadly music, haunting ambience and nasty décor. Food menu is curated to be scary in nature but easy on tummy says Laxmi Shenoy, branding head, Onyx, speaking to TOI. The event boasts of hundreds of guests.


Some of the specially curated menu include: Mummy’s finger with pickled jalapeno hummus, bloody paneer, vomiting guacamole nachos, dragon sandwich, devilled fish with quora rice, goblin chicken chilly, mummy’s dog and bat wings. And in cocktail and mocktail: Vampire, volcano, painkiller and others.


Retox Lounge in Balmatta Road has organised Halloween costume night where one can dress in their favourite characters, according to Nelson D’Souza.


Meanwhile, students town in Manipal too geared up to celebrated Halloween with some exciting events, says Ruchi Thakur.
