Delhi government levies Rs 5-lakh fine on DDA, polluting units

With air quality slipping into the "very poor" category, on Monday imposed a hefty fine of Rs 5 lakh on a DDA after finding that waste burning was rampant there.

Hussain was on a surprise inspection at the B-Block Industrial Area when he found incidents of industrial waste burning at the DDA land, an from Hussain's office said in a tweet.

"The has ordered the Committee (DPCC) to impose a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the Development Authority (DDA) and the concerned industrial units," the said.
