BHARUCH/VADODARA: Narmada police are on their toes after several posters of Ekta Yatra depicting pictures of PM Narendra Modi and CM Vijay Rupani were torn allegedly by supporters of tribal leaders Chhotu Vasava and Praful Vasava who are opposing the world's tallest statute at Kevadiya. The tribal leaders have exhorted residents of nearly 70 villages surrounding Kevadiya not to light chullahs at home as a symbolic protest.

Though government has promised hefty compensation along with agriculture land in catchment areas of Ukai and Narmada dams to nearly 178 tribals, Vasavas are in confrontational mood to assert their supremacy in the region. Sources said the fresh posters of tribal revolutionary Birsa Mundra with Statue of Unity in the backdrop were put up to thwart attempts at tearing them.
