Three youngsters were killed in two different accidents in Tiruporur and Puzhal on Sunday.
Police said that R Surya (19) of Mullipakkam in Chengalpattu, a second-year polytechnic student and his friend Y Pratap (20), were travelling on a bike to meet another friend, who admitted to a hospital.
When they were near Konerikuppam on Thiruporur–Chengalpattu High Road around 7.30 am, Pratap lost control of the two-wheeler and rammed a tree. They were thrown off the vehicle in the impact and sustained injuries. Passers-by rushed them to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital but they were declared brought dead. The Chengalpattu taluk police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
In another accident, Saravanan (23) of Sholavaram died on the spot and Aksash (21) suffered grievous injuries after their two-wheeler was rammed by a truck. The incident happened around 8 am near MGR statue on GNT Road near Puzhal when they were on their way to Chennai. The Madhavaram traffic investigation police registered a case and are searching the lorry driver who fled the spot.
