Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP launched in India

Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP have been introduced into the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 6.39 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Tata Motors have launched the much-awaited Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP in India. Thus, the Tata Tiago JTP is priced at Rs 6.39 lakhs while the Tata Tigor JTP will cost Rs 7.49 lakhs (ex-showroom) Delhi. Available at select Tata dealerships, these cars can now be booked at an initial amount of Rs 11,000 while proper sales are scheduled to begin from November 2018.

Developed jointly by Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives Private Limited, Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP feature a retuned 1.2 litre Turbo-charged Revotron petrol engine that provides an additional 29 PS power output with extra 36 Nm of torque. Thus with this enhancement, the overall figures now stands at 114 PS of maximum power output and 150 Nm of torque. Matted to only a five speed manual transmission both these models stand to offer two drive modes namely Sport and City. As for outright performance these machines can accelerate from their stand still position to 100 kmph in just 10 seconds. For them to be able to do that the suspension has been stiffened, the electric power steering further tuned and a set of wider tyres have been thrown into the package.

In profile, the Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP are a bit different from the regular sedan and hatchback. Sportier in nature, their exterior design boosts of dual chamber projector headlamps with chrome rings, revised front bumper with a large trapezoidal lower grille, sporty side skirts, ORVM’s in contrasting colours, 15-inch new alloy wheels alongside glossy black roof and a rear spoiler. Plus for easy identification, there is a JTP badge placed on the grille up-front, fender vents and also on the tailgate.

As for the cabin, significant changes have been made to suit its appeal. Thus both these machines get an all-black sporty interior with features like red accents on A/C vents, new fabric seats bearing red hexagonal motif along with red double stitching on them, a leather wrapped steering and race inspired aluminum pedals. There is also Tata Motors ConnectNext infotainment system on board with voice command and navigation assist.

With performance comes safety, Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP provide dual airbags, ABS with EBD and corner stability control as standard fitment.
