Indore: Four-year-old’s abduction cops still clueless

Police are still clueless about four-year-old girl who was abducted by a youth from her tuition class in Dwarkapuri on Thursday evening. The family members were shocked after they came to know about her school bag found in Ganji Compound near Nagar Nigam Square on Friday morning. Police appeared clueless as three CCTVs installed near spot were not functioning. As a result, police could not recover footages. However, accused was captured in CCTV in Dwarkapuri area while taking girl away.

Additional Superintendent of Police said girl named Kanishka Sirsiya is a KG-I student of a private school located in Hawa Bungalow. She was abducted by 25-year-old Honey Atwal, a resident of Malhargarh in Mandsaur district, at 6.30 pm on Thursday from her tuition class.

The accused worked under girl’s father and was staying at her residence for two years, so the teacher of tuition class allowed him to take girl. When they did not return home for long time, family members reported the matter to police. Police started searching in area. A CCTV near her coaching class was also examined by the police in which accused is seen taking the girl in CCTV.

School bag recovered near IMC workshop
On Friday morning, the school bag of Kanishka was recovered from a house near zonal office No 3 of Indore Municipal Corporation in Chimanbag. Girl’s father told Free Press that a person named Ramesh Joshi informed daughter’s school about the bag. Victim’s father said that her school bag was kept in the premises of a house. The bag was hidden behind the pillar, which was seen by the local residents.

Later, the bag was checked by people and they later informed school management. After that, girl’s father and other relatives along with police officials reached the spot where police examined three CCTVs, which were not functioning. Area residents said they were unaware about the person who brought girl’s bag there.
Accused killed girl in Malhargarh
Ongoing investigation revealed that accused Honey was accused in murder of a six-year-old girl in Malhargarh in Mandsaur district few years ago. The girl was found dead in a water tank and police had arrested him in connection with girl’s death when he was minor. He was staying in Indore for few years. Abducted girl’s father said he was unaware about criminal past of accused. He came to know from one of his family members on Friday. However, police insist that father of girl knew about Honey’s criminal record.

CCTV at railway station checked
Girl’s father said he got information from a person that a youth is taking a girl in a train around 12.30 pm. After that he along with police officials reached railway station and informed railway officials. Later, CCTVs were also checked but they failed to recover the footage in which youth is taking girl. Family members alleged that the information was immediately given to police but police did not reach there on time. Police officials reached there after two hours so that the accused could not be traced.

Police sent to Malhargarh
After knowing his criminal past, a police team was sent to Malhargarh to investigate the matter. Police believed that he took girl to Mandsaur. However, accused and girl could not be traced by police. A team is searching for accused at his relatives’ place in city. Malhargarh police have also been informed about the incident. Information from his parents is also being taken by the police.
