Cong workers protest at Akurdi CBI office

PIMPRI: The Pimpri Chinchwad unit of the Congress held protests at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office at Akurdi here on Friday to condemn the Centre’s alleged interference in the functioning of the premier investigative agency. The demonstrations were led by Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress President Satyajit Tambe.

Addressing the Congress workers, Tambe claimed the CBI Director Alok Verma was investigating the controversial Rafale purchase deals and therefore the government sent him on forced leave, he said.

Among those present were city Congress unit President Sachin Sathe, Women’s City Unit President Girija Kudale, Youth Congress Unit President Narendra Bansode and former corporator Rajabhau Golande.
