HYDERABAD: Senior leaders of Congress, TTDP, TJS and CPI who for med a grand alliance maybe split within on a ticklish issue of seat sharing, but they put up massive show of unity in public, much to the chagrin of TRS.
State TDP president L Ramana, TJS state leader K Dileep Kumar and CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy participated in protests organized by Congress in front of CBI office here.
Ramana, Dileep Kumar and Venkat Reddy trained guns on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and appealed to people to realise that TRS and BJP are hand in glove. “KCR has not spoken a word against Modi either on Rafale deal or midnight transfer of CBI director,” said Ramana. Along with AICC leader RC Khuntia, TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said Prime Minister Modi and CM KCR were destroying democratic institutions in the country and state.
The kutami leaders along with hundreds of supporters were taken into preventive custody. The protest was part of Congress’ nationwide protest against BJP government for removing Alok Varma as CBI chief.
“Modi and KCR have set a wrong precedent and displayed disrespect to the Constitution. Sending Varma on forced leave was illegal and unconstitutional. It was done by Modi government to hush up the Rafale scam,” Uttam said.
“Sycophancy is being rewarded with plum posting. Honest officers are neglected. There is not a single institution in Telangana which is free from influence of TRS or BJP,” Uttam said.
The Centre should accept Congress president Rahul Gandhi's demand for reinstatement of CBI director Alok Verma and Modi should apologise to the nation. “Modi and KCR are a threat to survival of democratic institutions,” he said. He coined the slogan — Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao and KCR Hatao, Telangana Bachao.
