NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Friday inaugurated an open-air gym in Sector 27. The idea is to engage people in outdoor exercises and promote healthy living, Authority officials said.
Equipment such as a sit-up station, air walker, air swing, horse rider, pull chair, exercising bar and arm wheel have been set up in the gym, which residents can use for free.
The Authority has already started such gyms in several sectors across the city, including sectors 12, 21, 26, 28, 30, 31, 33, 344, 35 and 40. It also plans to start similar gyms in parks in Challera and Aghahpur villages.
Noida Authority officials said the gym will be beneficial for residents of the sector, especially women and children. There are no restrictions on timing in the gym. “The gym will transform the residential park and increase footfall in morning and evening hours,” said Rajeev Tyagi, GM, Noida Authority.
Noida MLA Pankaj Singh also attended the inauguration programme and urged people to use the gym.
