MOHALI: Ten days after a woman, posed as a health worker, allegedly kidnapped a 15-day-old boy, cops are unable to make any headway into the case. According to them, they were probing the case from various angles. As of now, the cops suspect that the accused had an eye on the family since birth of the child.

On October 15, a woman, posing as a health worker, kidnapped a 15-day-old boy from Azad Nagar in Balongi on the pretext of giving him polio vaccine. Although the crime was caught on the CCTV cameras installed at nearby places, her face was not visible. The cops have said that have not found anything substantial that can help them locate the child.

Police said the woman, who introduced herself as a health worker, had come to the victim's home to give him polio drops. She told the child's parents that they could get a big cash reward from the government if they took the infant to a village gurdwara for vaccination.

The gullible parents believed her and took the child to the gurdwara, where she tricked them and fled with the child.
