2 arrested for robbery
tnn | Oct 28, 2018, 04:00 ISTRajkot: Two persons who robbed a man and his nephew of cash and a cell phone from under Bhagwatipara bridge were nabbed in Rajkot on Saturday.
Police said the accused identified as Vijay Ugrejia, 25 and Imran Sandhar, 30, both residents of Bhagwatipara locality in Rajkot, had allegedly robbed Dinesh Rathod, 31, and his nephew Haresh Rudatala of Rs1,500 cash and a cell phone worth Rs500 on Friday night.
The accused had waylaid the victims and beat them up before robbing them. The victims had come to Rajkot on a business trip from Visavadar.
“As the victims had some work under Bhagwatipara bridge, they went there. There the accused duo waylaid them. While one of the accused grabbed Rudatala, another caught hold of Rathod. They both hurled abuses at them and thrashed them when they refused to hand over their belongings to them. Then they committed the robbery and fled,” said an official from Rajkot B-Division police station, where Rathod lodged the complaint .
