Vinod Kapri directorial Pihu is being called out on Twitter for its promotional gimmick. People have been receiving calls from a number, and upon answering, the receiver hears a wailing sound from a child asking for help and then the call abruptly gets disconnected. However, when people try to call back, they instead get a message in turn with the Pihu trailer link.
People on Twitter have lashed out at the makers for promoting the film in such a manner. One Twitter user, Umesh Chandra, shared on the social media site, “Got a call from an anonymous number. A baby wailed about her mother and dad, and hung up. Disturbed, I tried calling back in vain. Got a message with a link. It turns out, of #Pihu’s trailer. A horrible idea, inhuman and desperate promotion strategy. @vinodkapri.”
Another Twitter user, Rashma Shetty, tweeted saying, “I’m not sure how cool is this promotional gimmick #Pihu.”
“Did I just get a call from a hysterical child called Pihu asking for help ???? And this is a film promotion? The no is 7024820657 totally disgusting. I am so traumatised,” Twitter user Chuman Das shared.
