Four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have lost their lives in an Improved Explosive Device (IED) blast in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Bijapur area on Saturday.
Furthermore, two more jawans have been injured in the blast.
Four of the killed CRPF personnel included one Assistant Sub-Inspector, one head constable and two constables of the 168 battalion.
Sharing details of the incident, P Sundar Raj, DIG (Anti-Naxal Operation) said, "The IED blast occurred in the Awapalli Police Station area of the Bijapur district. Unfortunately, four CRPF personnel lost their lives. 2 injured jawans have been sent for medical treatment."
Last week, three Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP) jawans were injured in an Improved Explosive Device (IED) blast orchestrated by Naxals in the state's Rajnandgaon district's Rajadera village.
