Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu arrived in New Delhi Saturday to meet key opposition leaders including Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Yadav and Mayawati to drum up support against the BJP government, as he claimed that the Centre was trying to destabilise his government. He met Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) chief Sharad Yadav at Andhra Bhavan in the national capital today. He also met BSP chief Mayawati in New Delhi in a bid to thwart the Narendra Modi-led Centre’s “conspiracy” against his government.

The move is also being seen as an attempt to garner support against BJP ahead of the run-up to the next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Naidu is expected to meet leaders from the Left parties and others representing a non-NDA Opposition. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Naidu was an NDA ally till March this year when he pulled out of the BJP-led alliance to protest against the Centre’s refusal to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

Talking about the meeting Kejriwal tweeted that they discussed national issues and agreed that the present BJP government is a threat to the nation and to the Constitution.

Naidu also met former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and president of the National Conference party Farooq Abdullah at the latter’s residence in Tilak Marg.

Hours after an attack on YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday, Naidu in a presser had claimed that Centre will now try to create law and order problems in the state and he expressed his apprehension that places of worship may be attacked. The chief minister has alleged that since he broke the alliance with BJP-led NDA, the Centre has been conspiring to destabilise his government.
