Congress leader Oommen Chandy said here on Thursday that believers should take the decisions on issues related to faith and Sabarimala.

He accused the government of trying to cover up its failures by levelling allegations against the opposition. It was Sangh Parivar-related organisations, not believers, who created trouble around Sabarimala, he said. Mr. Chandy also took exception to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s statement on the erstwhile royal family of Pandalam and the temple tantri.

He said the solar case would be dealt legally.

‘Govt on witch-hunt’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan on Thursday criticised the government for arresting protesters who allegedly turned violent when the Sabarimala temple opened for darshan early this month. He said the government was on a witch-hunt worse than during the Emergency.
