A mobile app, ‘Mosquito Mapper’, to monitor the functioning of personnel hired for destroying mosquito breeding within the Corporation limits was launched here on Friday.
Minister for Information and Public Relations Kadambur C. Raju introduced the App in the presence of Collector Sandeep Nanduri and Commissioner Alby John Varghese. The Corporation has deployed 450 personnel to destroy the mosquito breeding grounds through weekly house visits. After inspecting the house once a week, they should send their reports to the health department of the civic body. If a house was locked during their visit, they should visit the house the next day also for inspection.
When they happen to see mosquito breeding grounds during their visit, they would alert the health department for taking appropriate action to destroy it.
To monitor their functioning, the Corporation has launched the ‘Mosquito Mapper’ App.
“Since the personnel deployed in the field would have to update the information immediately in the App after inspecting a house, the health department officials would get a better picture and take appropriate action,” the officials said.
