Music festival on Sunday

HUBBALLI: Kala Dharohar, Hubballi, will organise 'Gangubai Hangal Music Mahotsav' at Samskrutik Bhavan near New Cotton Market on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Dinesh Hangal, vice-president, Kala Dharohar, said the aim of the organisation is to popularise classical music and provide platform for young musicians to showcase their talent.
Well-known musicians will participate in the mahotsav. Flutist Harish Kulkarni of Hubballi and Sujayeendra Kulkarni (tabla) will perform in the morning session at 8.45am and veteran vocalist Pandit Dr M Venkatesh Kumar, Shirdhar Mandre (tabla) and Guruprasad Hegde (harmonium) will also perform.
