Mongrel Mob bikie gang targeted in Karratha drug operation
Detectives in Karratha have charged seven people with a raft of drug offences in the wake of an
operation targeting members and associates of the Mongrel Mob outlaw motorcycle gang.
Detectives stopped a car on the North West Coastal Highway about 54km south of Karratha at 11am last Friday, the vehicle was searched and it will be alleged 501 grams of methamphetamine was found.
Two men — a 27-year-old from Millars Well and a 19-year-old from Bulgarra — were charged with several offences including possessing a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine with intent to sell or supply and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
The pair were refused bail and will reappear in court next week.
The seizure in the car led Karratha detectives and the gang crime squad to execute search warrants in Pegs Creek, Millars Well and Nickol.
As a result, a 36-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from Pegs Creek, and a 27-year-old man from Nickol have all been charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine with intent to sell or supply.
A 25-year-old man from Nickol has also been charged with conspiring to sell or supply a prohibited
drug other than methamphetamine.
The four are due to appear in the Karratha Magistrates Court on Friday.
