A Little Compton man is charged with molesting the child of a woman he had been dating over the last four years.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — A Little Compton man is charged with molesting the child of a woman he had been dating over the last four years.

According to a news release from Detective Sgt. Trevor Richmond, the South Kingstown police were approached on Oct. 15 by a resident who said she believed that her 12-year-old child had been molested by the man, 39-year-old Myles Stevenson.

South Kingstown Detective Joshua Eidam interviewed Stevenson two days later, and he was subsequently charged with one count of first-degree child molestation. According to the news release, the police believe that Stevenson began the abuse when the child was 8 years old; the investigation is continuing, according to the release.

Stevenson is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions, according to the release.
