A high-profile sex worker has been ridiculed for parking in a disabled spot.

Escort Lisa Lewis was abused online for parking in a disabled spot at an Auckland hotel but claims the venue would often provide reserved parking for VIP guests.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when disabled woman Fran Henricksen was frustrated to find a large black ute parked in a disability spot and a second one coned off at the ibis Ellerslie hotel in New Zealand.

Ms Henricksen, who uses crutches for a spinal cord injury, said the last thing she wanted to do was 'haul a** across the car park'.

'As a disabled customer I was unbelievably angry to hear that the customer who was illegally parked was a hotel VIP,' she wrote on Facebook.

Lewis then decided to admit she was the 'hotel VIP' but was met with criticism from online trolls.

The sex worker, who has been a regular guest at the venue for five years, told Daily Mail Australia she arrived at about 10am and the staff members who checked her in told her it was 'fine' to park in the 'Accor loyalty' spots that were in disabled spots.

'Over the last five years Novotel Ibis Greenlane Ellersliehas left reserved car park space for Accor loyalty's in, yes, the disabled car parks,' she said. 

Lewis said she received a 5pm phone call from a hotel manager who informed her to move her vehicle.

Lewis moved her car and said the Accor signs had been taken away for the first time in five years.

The incident has left the sex worker shaken as she has received online threats from people who said they would slit her tires, get her car towed and find out where she lived.

'I have been attacked, ridiculed and bullied which is not nice,' she said.

'I accept now no one should park in a disabled park unless you have a permit and I won't do it again unless I have a disability permit to park there.'

Ms Henricksen said she had been contacted by the hotel but the the incident was unacceptable, NZ Herald reported. 

'Regardless of whether the hotel allowed her to leave her car parked there, she chose to use a park she wasn't entitled to, and honestly it happens far too often for me to just not say anything about it - I have 'Stick to Your Guns' tattooed on my chest, and it would be irresponsible of me not to live those words if I expect other people to,' she said.

Hotel general manager Jamie O'Donnell earlier said they were apologetic about the situation.

Mr O'Donnell said the venue has reinforced their processes to ensure disabled parking spots are only used by those who need them.

She later advertised the swimwear on auction website Trade Me in order to cover court costs for her disorderly behaviour.

Lewis had a one night stand with All Blacks star Aaron Smith in 2014 while he had a girlfriend. 

She was then forced to deny allegations she was the woman he had sex with in a airport bathroom in a 2016 scandal.
