PUNE: The Bund Garden police on Wednesday booked a senior Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) official under section 354 D of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for stalking a woman employee and sending her lewd text messages demanding sexual favours.
According to the FIR, the man has been harassing the 31-year-old woman employee since this June.

He would follow the woman to ward offices where she went for official work.

He stopped her in these public offices and demanded sexual favours from her, the FIR states.

The complaint says that when the woman did not give in to his demands, the official sent her lewd and obscene text messages demanding sexual favours.

Senior inspector M M Mujawar of Bund Garden police station told TOI, “The woman has to report to her senior officer, the suspect in the case, on a daily basis. The two know each other as they are working in the same office.

“We have not yet arrested the man. The woman has submitted all the evidence and we are investigating the case,” Mujawar said.

Police will study the CCTV footage of all ward offices mentioned in the complaint and other places to verify the intimidation the woman allegedly went through.
