Baazaar box office prediction: Saif Ali Khan starrer is expected to have a decent opening at the ticket counters.
Saif Ali Khan’s thriller drama Baazaar hits theaters today. The film, set in the world of stock market and trading, also features Radhika Apte, Chitrangada Singh and debutant Rohan Mehra. After the release of the trailer, many said the film was inspired by Hollywood film Wall Street but filmmaker Nikhil Advani has denied any such claims. Now whether it bears similarity with the hit Hollywood film or not will be known only after the reviews are out.
Though Baazaar is the only big release this Friday, it is expected to face competition from Badhaai Ho. Trade analyst Girish Johar has predicted a collection of Rs 2-2.5 crore for the film at the box office. He said, “It is Saif Ali Khan who is driving the film. The makers have tried to target the Gujarati community and it is expected to earn something between Rs 2-2.5 crore on the day of its release. The rest depends on the reviews and the word of mouth.”
The official description of the Gauravv K Chawla directorial read, “Bada aadmi bann ne ke liye, line cross karni padti hai. #Baazaar is subject to market risk!”
Saif Ali Khan plays a seasoned stock trader Shakun Kothari in Baazaar. He has been showered with praise for the role and according to Saif, he is better than ever as an actor. “I feel, as an actor, I am better than ever and more interested than I have ever been. I am also learning new things. I am getting better every day and I am enjoying the growth that’s happening,” he said during a media interaction at the trailer launch.
Girish Johar also said that Badhaai Ho has chances of ruling the weekend and entering the coveted Rs 100 crore club. “If Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Badhaai Ho continues with its successful run in the second week as well, it can reach the Rs 100 crore mark,” he suggested.
