Bob Katter sacks controversial senator Fraser Anning months after 'final solution' speech

Bob Katter has kicked Fraser Anning out of his party following weeks of tension over a speech the controversial senator made linking immigration to Nazi Germany's "final solution".

Mr Katter made the announcement at Parliament House on Thursday afternoon.

Senator Anning joined the Katter Australia Party in June after abandoning Pauline Hanson's One Nation.

In one of the most inflammatory speeches to Australian Parliament for decades, Senator Anning in August praised the White Australia Policy and called for a plebiscite as "the final solution to the immigration problem".

Senator Anning took aim at Muslim migrants in particular, claiming they had proven to be the least able to assimilate and integrate into Australian society and other countries.

Mr Katter called the speech "absolutely magnificent" but the pair have been at loggerheads ever since.

"Ninety-nine per cent of what Senator Anning has been saying is solid gold," Mr Katter said.

"However there is one per cent of what he is saying that is totally unacceptable.

"Clearly Fraser wants to continue his crusade and we think it is best to give him this freedom."
