With general elections fast approaching, Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu has asked the DWCRA groups members to work for the victory of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The games of neither the BJP nor YSR Congress Party and Jana Sena Party (JSP) would be fruitful if you (DWCRA groups) put heart and soul in their work. They would not be able to retain their deposits if the DWCRA groups worked in an expected manner, he said.
Mr. Naidu was addressing a meeting of the ‘Sadhikara mitra’ at Grievance Hall near his residence on Wednesday. In a pep talk, Mr. Naidu termed the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) as 95 lakh plus army. If all of the 95 lakh people work hard, the TDP would retain the power. The TDP has to win all 175 seats. Even if there were minor aberrations, and loses a few seats, the government would not be able to set the tone for development. “If the TDP wins all 175 seats, the MLAs listen to me. Else, I will have to listen to them,” he said.
When the SHGs members responded positively and asserted that there was an overwhelming response and support the TDP, Mr. Naidu recalled that he was ‘overconfident’ in 2004 elections having developed Hyderabad, Outer Ring Road (ORR)etc. But, public mood was different. Subsequently, the State deprived of development for 10 years. “For every 5 years, I have to face the election. You will be worst sufferers than me if I lose the election,” he said.
