The Trinamool Congress will organise a party convention on November 16 to appeal to the people to make its planned January 19 Brigade Rally a success.

TMC chief Mamata Banerjee had given the call for the Brigade Rally to unite all Opposition parties against the BJP ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Party secretary general Partha Chatterjee said the convention next month will be addressed by Mamata at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.

“All party MPs, MLAs, office bearers, panchayat and municipal office bearers have been invited. We will discuss various aspects of the proposed January 19 rally,” he said during a press conference.

Meanwhile, Chatterjee targeted the BJP for “controlling” the CBI and using it to suit its political interests.
